Sick of it yet?

Internet of Things will be huge at SAPPHIRE, TechEd, and other SAP events this year.  As developers, you are perhaps already playing along with HCP scenarios using your handy Raspberry Pi and the like and instead of being tired of the hype, you could be fired up with the potential.  But you also need to be able to elaborate the business ramifications so you can continue to push to do the important things at work.

If this is you, or if you're looking to just get started on your IoT journey, the ASUG pre-SAPPHIRE seminars are now announced and one session you won’t want to miss is the following:

Internet of Things (IoT) – Transformation Beyond the Hype

In this full-day session on Monday, May 4, you'll get to go in-depth with IoT and come out of it with all your business bases covered while also getting to go beyond the hype.

From the abstract:

The marketing hype around the Internet of Things (IoT) is deafening and is almost becoming counterproductive. Yet, there is no question that IoT is going to change the way we live and work… The ubiquity of connected devices and sensors is not just going to improve the efficiency of our current business models – it is creating new opportunities. But with opportunities come challenges. IoT is impacting many areas, from consumer privacy to billing, to simply keeping your core enterprise applications up and running when they get hit with the overwhelming amount of data generated by connected devices.

The session will give you a practical view of what companies are already doing with IoT and the impact this is having within the enterprise and beyond.  You’ll hear directly from presenters on not just hype, but also the actual challenges to overcome to embrace IoT.  In addition, you’ll get to participate in a roundtable and directly interact with the speakers.

Counterproductive or not, believe – and get beyond – the hype and come hear the reality directly from industry experts in Orlando on Monday, May 4.  Looking forward to hearing from everyone there and seeing your HCP IoT scenarios live afterwards!
