Hi everyone,
about a week ago we had a two day event from April 28-29th 2016 with a first-day workshop and second-day hackathon on SAP HANA Cloud Platform for DSAG AK Medien. In this blog post I would like to share a few impressions from the event.

On Thursday we began with a long workshop part divided into six sessions. This part was very similar to the SAP CodeJams that you know and that we deliver over the world. This time we focused on providing first a good overview and then looking a bit deeper into the mobile functionalities that SAP HANA Cloud Platform offers. We covered:
- Introduction to SAP HANA Cloud Platform and its features
- Account overview and signup for a free developer account
- Usage of the SAP Web IDE and first HTML5 application
- Usage of the Eclipse tools and first Java application
- First SAP HANA native application
- SAP HANA Cloud Platform, mobile services overview and examples
This gave all the participants a good overview about the SAP HANA Cloud Platform including its capabilities and most prominent use cases. In the openSAP course SAP HANA Cloud Platform Essentials that starts today and delivers a very good and holistic look at the platform in its most up to date state yet. If you read this at a later point in time or currently don't have the time to look into it, no problem, the course is always online and you can also do it in a self-paced mode at any point in time.
We finished the day of with an introduction into design thinking by Olaf Mackert, one of our leading design thinking and agile development coaches at SAP, and paper prototyping by the teams to build up a concept of their apps that they then should develop the next day. Of course, a bit of team & LEGO building had to be in the design thinking part to make it complete.
On Friday we had a full day of Code Code Code! by the teams with the final result presentations at the end. Great work everyone!

I hope that all the participants felt welcome at the event and went back into their companies with new impressions and ideas for how enterprise apps are build and might look like in the future. See you all at future events!

All the best,
