The integration of the Cloud Foundry open source PaaS with the SAP HANA Cloud Platform via the newly released beta version of "HCP, Starter Edition for Cloud Foundry Services" is happening, and SAP's large-scale participation in the 2016 Cloud Foundry Summit series evidences the commitment to this alliance.
The North American Cloud Foundry Summit is the largest multi-cloud event in North America - this year's conference alone hosted 1,600 physical attendees from May 23 - 25 in Santa Clara, CA as well as 600 virtual attendees viewing online. SAP's commitment to Cloud Foundry goes beyond the United States. In fact, 40+ SAP employees from around the globe attended/volunteered at the Summit including representatives from Bulgaria, Germany, India and the United States. And later this year, SAP and the HANA Cloud Platform team will be present at the European Cloud Foundry Summit in Frankfurt from September 26 - 28.
As a Gold Sponsor, SAP was provided a large booth where visitors could check out the new HCP services available through integration with Cloud Foundry as well as see a YaaS demonstration. The booth had more than 100 unique visitors from customers including Allstate, Comcast and Kaiser Permanente as well as other vendors including HP, Pivotal and IBM.
There was a lot of interest in how SAP is integrating Cloud Foundry with existing services.
